Welcome!

This blog will be on the effects of social media on people’s mental health and how we can help those who have been negatively affected. I am also going to be explaining why social media has these negative effects and how people can stop it from effecting them. This topic is a very important one as it is currently relevant to anyone who has and is using any sort of social media.  While many of us enjoy staying connected through social media, excessive use can fuel feelings of anxiety, depression, isolation and FOMO (fear of missing out). Since it’s a relatively new technology, there’s little research to establish the long-term consequences, good or bad, of social media use. However, multiple studies have found a strong link between heavy social media and an increased risk for depression, anxiety, loneliness, self-harm, and even suicidal thoughts. Social media can affect someone’s mental health in many different ways, some include bullying  or posting non-consensual pictures of another p

Photo Story

The photos that are shown are how I can best describe what my project is about visually.  Photo 1 below shows a man surrounded by all the different social media sights and it looks as if they are consuming or surrounding him therefore he seems alone and miserable which is clear to see in the way that his hands are on his head as if he is upset or stressed. Photo 3 outlines the 'Dark Side' of social media and shows what kinda of negative aspects these apps have and how they effect people mentally. Photo 4 is a calming picture that I believe may relax a stressed or unhappy mindset due to the nice green view and blue sky, nothing about this picture is daunting or unhappy therefore believe it may be helpful for someone to v

Reflection

I have developed a lot throughout this module, My first instinct when going into this class was that it was going to be a lot of presenting infant of people which I am not the most comfortable with and I get very nervous speaking infant of people by myself. However as I did it more often I got used to it and understood that I was going to have to do it regardless of weather I wanted to or not and it became easier as I went on. I learnt a lot from my first pitch as I received very detailed feedback my main areas that I needed to focus on was my timing as it was a bit short and I needed to focus on having a good answer for any questions that may be asked at the end as I was put on the spot by some of the questions given to me. My comments that I posted on the class blog about my pitch performance were overall very positive I got all the relevant research and my idea out there and made it easy for people to understand what I was doing my project on. I also told myself to take more time i
